The 2024 LPGA schedule is loaded with majors, international competitions and some iconic courses. Here is a breakdown of the events to circle on the calendar this season:
- LPGA Match Play at Shadow Creek – Apr. 3-7: The LPGA returns to Las Vegas at one of the most prestigious public courses in the country for its annual match play event, but in a new time slot earlier in the season. Expect a better field this year with the new date not coming directly before a major and some milder weather with the tournament not being hosted in June.
- The Chevron Championship – Apr. 18-21: While this event is a bit hurt by the lack of history after moving from Mission Hills last season, it did still have the feel of a big time event. With some of the best TV time slots and always a stacked field, it will be must watch for any LPGA fan.
- Mizuho Americas Open – May 16-19: Rose Zhang defends her magical title, held once again at Liberty National with Michelle Wie West as host. This event is must watch alone for the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline in the distance.
- U.S. Women’s Open – May 30- June 2: The U.S. Women’s Open returns to Lancaster Country Club in 2024, which hosted the event in 2015, won by In Gee Chun. Allisen Corpuz will defend, trying to recapture the magic she found at Pebble Beach in 2023.
- KPMG Women’s PGA Championship – June 20-23: The Women’s PGA Championship returns to Sahalee Country Club in Washington state, the home of Brooke Henderson’s breakout victory. The Women’s PGA Championship is a great place for young stars to get their first major.
- The Olympics – Aug. 7-10: In my personal opinion, the Olympics in golf have been a massive success, that has led to a great combination of strong medalists and fun stories like Mone Imani winning in her home country. This year the pressure is on superstar Celine Boutier, trying to medal for the first time in Paris.
- AIG Women’s Open – Aug. 22-25: THE tournament of 2024 because of the location. Like having the U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach was a huge moment for the LPGA Tour, having the AIG Women’s Open at The Old Course will be the biggest LPGA Tour event of the year. The greatest women’s golfers in the world will attack the most iconic course in the world.
- The Solheim Cup – Sept. 13-15: After the controversial finish in 2023, The Solheim Cup is immediately back in 2024. Will the Americans win the cup for the first time since 2017? Will we see a new look European team? It will be fascinating to see it play out all season.
