The official 2025 LPGA Tour season is in the books. It was a thrilling season filled with intriguing storylines. Here are the top five biggest of the year:

No. 5 – Rookies – The LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year race was deeper than ever. A record seven rookies won on the Tour in 2025, with Miyu Yamashita winning twice including a major. Yamashita, Rio Takeda, Akie and Chisato Iwai, Lottie Woad, Miranda Wang and Ingrid Lindblad were all officially rookies who won in 2025. In addition, players like Jenny Bae, Julia Lopez Ramirez, Ina Yoon, Saki Baba and Cassie Porter all had impressive weeks. This could be a transcendent class.

No. 4 – Jeeno Thitikul – Jeeno Thitikul was the best player in the world throughout most of the season, but really took it to a new level in the last half. Thitikul was in contention nearly every week, finishing top three in 8/20 starts. She set the all-time LPGA Tour record for scoring average, and broke her own record for highest earnings in a season. In total, she won three times, and it really was just a few inches here and there away from being five wins. Thitikul is now the undisputed best player in the world, and is only 22-years-old.

No. 3 – Nelly Korda’s Winless Season – On the negative side, Nelly Korda’s lack of wins in 2025 was really the storyline of the season almost every week. When would she finally get that first trophy of the season? It ended up not coming, which seems impossible coming off a seven-win season. Statistically it also should’ve been impossible. Korda was third on the LPGA Tour in total strokes gained and second in scoring average. Her scoring average was actually lower this season than in her Player of the Year winning 2024 campaign. This season can kind of be thrown out as a strange fluke, but it was still fascinating to watch play out.

No. 2 – Parity – The LPGA Tour has never been deeper than it currently is, which was proven by the 2025 season. The LPGA made it through 25 official finishes before there was a repeat winner. Only two players won multiple times, Yamashita and Thitikul. A record 29 players won in total in 2025. The LPGA Tour’s depth this season was incredible, and left some high ranking players without wins.

No. 1 – Japan – Japan had a great year in 2024, but as expected, really broke out as a country in 2025. Seven tournaments were won in 2025 by players from Japan. Two of those wins, the AIG Women’s Open (Yamashita) and the Chevron Championship (Mao Saigo) were majors. The top four finishers in the Rookie of the Year race were from Japan. This is a new era on the LPGA Tour, one where players from Japan will dominate with regularity.
