One of the biggest events on the LPGA Tour, the CPKC Women’s Open, is back this week played for the first time at Mississuaga Golf and Country Club. This is always one of the best fields of the LPGA Tour season and 2025 is no different, featuring many of the top ranked players and a phenomenal group of amateurs. Here are our five picks to win the CPKC Women’s Open:
No. 5 – Kiara Romero (a) – It may be bold to say, but Kiara Romero was wildly impressive at The Standard Portland Classic, and I think she can get into contention again here. Romero checks every box of a player that will have a great career on Tour, and can get closer to the required LEAP points number with another great week. There is more competition at this event than in Portland, but do not be surprised to see her in one of the last groups on Sunday.
No. 4 – Brooke Henderson – Henderson made a lot of progress in Portland last week despite a mediocre Sunday round that kept her out of the top 20. I think there was just enough momentum there to time it up perfectly with the event she essentially hosts. Though it has always been on different courses, one thing has remained consistent, Henderson performs very well in front of her home fans. Expect that to continue here.
No. 3 – Nelly Korda – She has to win at some point right? It feels unfathomable that there have been 22 different winners on the LPGA Tour and Korda hasn’t been one of them. She’s been in position as well, making every cut this season and having four top-five finishes in 13 starts. Coming off a couple weeks away and some encouraging rounds in Europe, I think this week sets up nicely for the No. 2 player in the world if she can get her driver straightened out.
No. 2 – Jeeno Thitikul – It is so hard to go against Thitikul any given week, this one included. The No. 1 player in the world leads in scoring average and strokes gained total and puts herself into contention almost every week. If there is one player due for a second win in 2025, it is her. A snapshot into how dominant her game is? She is No. 22 in strokes gained off the tee, No. 5 in strokes gained approach and No. 6 in strokes gained putting.
No. 1 – Andrea Lee – Andrea Lee is quietly playing great golf and is now in the time of the schedule where she is generally at her best. I was a bit surprised to see her not in Portland, a tournament she has one before, but I think this week is a great chance to make some noise. Lee has made 14/15 cuts and has five top-10 finishes this year. Her short game has been elite and she has finished in the top 11 in 6 out of her last nine starts. Don’t be surprised to see her holding the trophy at the end of the week.
