The LPGA’s longest continuously running event is back at The Standard Portland Classic. The event will be played at Columbia Edgewater Country Club once again, a familiar site for the Tour. Here are our picks for the five players most likely to win:

No. 5 – Brooke Henderson – Nobody on the LPGA Tour plays Columbia Edgewater better than Brooke Henderson. She is a two-time winner here with a pair of additional top-10 finishes. Even though her play as of late has been inconsistent at best, I like her chances of being in contention against a bit of a weaker field.

No. 4 – Celine Boutier – Celine Boutier should feel very confident heading into the Portland Classic in quietly very good form. Going back to the Mizuho Americas Open in May, Boutier has finished outside the top 25 just twice and has a couple top-five finishes in that stretch. Boutier is ranked No. 18 in the CME Standings currently and is doing much better on the greens in 2025 compared to that uncharacteristic 2024 season.

No. 3 – Grace Kim – I am a firm believer we will see a much different Grace Kim after her major title. The talent has always been there and now she is a two-time proven winner on Tour. In Kim’s two times playing this event, she has done very well with a ninth place finish last year and a 26th place finish in 2023. Though her putter has been a real struggle this season, it can get very hot at any time and her ball striking has been solid.

No. 2 – Rio Takeda – Takeda has really done nothing this season other than play great golf. In 19 starts she has seven top-10 finishes with a win. Her most recent top-10 came in the last event at the AIG Women’s Open, where she was a major part of the weekend story. The rookie ranks No. 3 in the CME Standings right now and is clearly in the best form of anyone in the field this week. Her tee-to-green game is absolutely elite. The one concern is course knowledge, where as a rookie she will be at a slight disadvantage.

No. 1 – Hannah Green – There’s no real rhyme or reason to this pick other than a gut feeling of Green getting out of the slump she’s been in this year. It has been real feast or famine for Green this year, with some solid finishes early in the season, but some real struggles as of late. In the last three events she is a cumulative +36. That being said, coming back over to the United States, on a course she has won at before, could spell some good omens for the rest of the year coming off her huge 2024 where she won three times.
