No. 1 ranked Wake Forest looked the part in the first two rounds of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, not losing a single match out of 10 played.
In the first round, the Demon Deacons dominated Georgetown, winning all five matches, with none of them getting to the 18th hole. Carolina Lopez-Chacarra led the way with a dominant 6&5 victory in the opening match.
In the second round, Wake Forest squared off with San Jose State, who beat Clemson in the opening matches 3-1-1. This time superstar 5th year senior Rachel Kuehn was the dominant force, winning 3&2. This matchup in general was much closer, as three of the matches tied, with Wake Forest winning the other two.
Wake Forest now takes on a tough South Carolina, who beat the defending champion Oregon 3-2. South Carolina has looked solid, going 6-4 in their first two rounds against the Ducks and Arizona. South Carolina is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation.
