The third round of the Toto Japan Classic was suspended Saturday because of extreme weather that made the course unplayable for the day.
The tournament has now been shortened to a 54-hole event, to be played late Saturday night and early Sunday morning in the United States.
JLPGA player Hana Wakimoto will only have to go through one more round to complete her first victory. The groups will remain the same as scheduled, but the start times have been adjusted.
Yealimi Noh and Ariya Jutanugarn are sitting just two strokes back, and certainly pose the toughest test, followed by other Japanese stars Rio Takeda and Saiki Fujita. Sitting in a tie with Fujita are established LPGA Tour winners Marina Alex and two-time major champion Jin Young Ko.
The final round is still scheduled to be played from 11:00 PM – 2:00 AM est.
