After a day with much higher scores than we saw in rounds one and two, the UCLA Bruins have won the Bruin Wave invitational by a commanding 22 strokes over Baylor.
Once again, freshman Francesca Fiorellini led the way finishing as the only player under par for the tournament at -9. That was good enough for a 10-stroke win over teammate Tiffany Le, who was competing only as an individual. Rounding out the top three was another Bruin, freshman Angela Liu, who finished at +2 for the event.
Overall, UCLA finished +6 for the three-round event played in Valencia, California. Natalie Vo also finished in the top six, shooting +4 for the tournament.
With the win over high ranked programs like Arizona and Baylor, UCLA picks up big momentum heading into the rest of the season. The Bruins are next in action in Hilton Head, South Carolina at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, against one of the strongest fields in women’s college golf which features six of the top 10 teams in the country.
