Team USA has announced its four assistant captains for the 2024 Solheim Cup. Returning from 2023 are Morgan Pressel and Angela Stanford, joined by newcomers Brittany Lincicome and Paula Creamer.
Pressel, known now as the lead color analyst for Golf Channel’s LPGA coverage, will be returning for her second year as an assistant. Pressel was a six-time Solheim Cup player accumulating an 11-8-3 record. In her career she won two LPGA events and one major, the 2007 Chevron Championship.
Stanford (above), was a six-time Solheim Cup member as well, though her success wasn’t as strong as Pressel’s. Stanford went 4-13-3 in her Solheim career. Like Pressel, Stanford has also dabbled in broadcasting, serving as an occasional excellent on-course reporter. Stanford has seven LPGA Tour wins including the 2018 Evian Championship.
Creamer is the most experienced of the bunch, with seven career Solheim Cup appearances. Creamer has always been a superstar in the event, with a 17-9-5 career record. The Pink Panther has seemed like an obvious choice to join the captains’ room for awhile and has 10 career wins including the 2010 U.S. Women’s Open.
Last but not least is Brittany Lincicome, a six-time Solheim Cup team member and two-time major champion. Lincicome went 7-12-2 but had perhaps the most decorated career of the assistants. Lincicome has won eight times on tour including two major titles at Mission Hills.
Not returning in 2024 is Natalie Gulbis, who was an assistant in 2023. The four assistants will join captain Stacy Lewis at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia this September.
