The first two rounds are completed at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, and Lottie Woad shares the lead with Kiara Romero at -9.

Woad, the No. 1 ranked amateur golfer in the world, and defending champion, is living up to the billing so far in this event. After a terrific -7 65 at Champions Retreat Golf Club in the first round, she responded with a solid -2 70 with only one bogey on the scorecard. She sits in a great position to be the first two-time winner of the event. If she wins, she sits only two points short of achieving the 20 LEAP points necessary to get LPGA Tour status.

Tying her is Kiara Romero, a player from Oregon who is ranked No. 8 in the amateur rankings. Romero shot a -4 68 to follow up her first round 67. This is Romero’s second time playing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, but the first time she has made the cut.

Megha Ganne, the leader after round one where she shot a tournament record 63, had a bit of an up-and-down day Thursday. She made three birdies and four bogeys to shoot 73, and currently sits in a tie for third place with Carla Bernat Escuder and Andrea Revuelta.

Elsewhere, 16-year-old superstar Asterisk Talley got heavily in the mix, shooting a -6 round to get into a tie for sixth place. Talley, who has had an incredible last couple years, finished eighth in 2024 and is looking to better that this week.

The final round at Augusta National will take place Saturday, broadcast on NBC.
