The WTGL has announced its first batch of players for the inaugural season, beginning in late 2026, and it made some splashes.

Joining the league will be LPGA superstars Jeeno Thitikul, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, Lexi Thompson and Charley Hull.

Thitikul, the No. 1 player in the world, is one of the major headlines, but each of these signings bring big fanbases to the new league. Hull, Ko, Henderson and Thompson each carry some of the largest galleries in the sport.

One of the big questions surrounding the TGL, which just announced U.S. soccer legend Alex Morgan as an investor, was how it would appeal to the very international LPGA Tour. Those questions are seemingly squashed here with the inclusion of Ko, Hull and Thitikul.

The next job seemingly for the WTGL would be to sign Nelly Korda, who is the biggest star remaining who was not in this grouping. She is a native Floridian, which is where all of the current matches are held, so it seems likely she will be included in this league at some point.

The WTGL is an offshoot of the TGL, a new golf league that includes simulators and high tech systems to revolutionize team golf. The men’s league currently airs on ESPN and features players mic’d up and its own set of rules. Just a couple of weeks ago, it was announced women’s players would be joining in partnership with the LPGA Tour.
